Alice is 5 y.o.
OCTOBER 28, 2020
Hello, I'm Alice. Two days ago I turned precisely 5 years old. Mum says I'm big already. Today's October 30. We're celebrating Helloween in our new
huge flat on the eleventh floor.
Today's November 18, the year 2020. I'm currently doing some elementary arithmetic. Mum's nearby. She's doing both filming me
and helping me with some sums. I like the job I'm doing. It's a lot of fun. Something unusual I've never done before.
If you might've noticed I'm a leftie.
Gosh! Novemver 21 today. Do you remember my girlfriend? She's also Alice just like me and she's my age. We're playing cats.
Time goes on. It's December 25, 2020. Out there in England they're celebrating Christmas. My family and I are going to mark Russian Christmas in the new year on January 7
because we're Russian. Right now I'm taking a bath being guarded by Buggie. Did I tell you that we'd brought this black cat home the previous summer? How I adore
this fluffy ball!
Time flies! The 2021 New Year is in full swing. It's January 30 today. Me and Buggie are looking out the window at a wonderful winter view. It's not
mid-winter yet, but there's already fallen a lot of snow in Moscow. Mum promised we'd shortly go outside and play snowballs. By the way, I'm 5 years and 3 months old.
THREE DAYS LATER: Today's February 3. I'm explaining the game rules to my mum on the drawing I made all by myself.
APRIL 19, THE YEAR 2021
Once upon a time in vast Russia there lived a little lovely girl by the name of Alice. She was said
to be born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Indeed! Providence had dealt Alice plenty of happiness for her parents were King Max and Queen Olga, and they all resided in a huge
palace in the very heart of Moscow. Princess Alice’s dad and mum were very kind, honest and just rulers and they ruled the Russian Kingdom for their people’s welfare and also for
enhancing their land power lest the neighbouring belligerent kingdoms be even dreaming of ever attacking Russia. Because the people doted on their King and Queen immensely,
they were never lazy to work diligently. That is why that country kept flourishing by the day, growing stronger both economically and militarily and the people were
happy to live in peace and harmony there under the reign of Alice’s mom and dad. By then the charming princess turned five and a half years old. How clever and
alluring she was! Alice was often featured on television and the people adored watching her. The little girl spoke English and Russian perfectly well. It was her mum Queen Olga
who began talking English to Alice from the first day of her birthday. From infancy the princess loved to watch English movies, listen to English fairy tales and
she was definitely getting interested in England and America, the countries where English was spoken by everyone and where her favourite books and cartoons came from, and especially
her favourite Star Butterfly cartoon.
One day they were showing England on television otherwise known as the United Kingdom (the UK for short) that was pretty far away from Russia. Buckingham Palace was currently on the screen, Queen
Elizabeth's official London residence and a working royal palace. London was the coolest place in England just like Moscow was number one town in Russia. So while watching TV,
Alice saw a handsome boy who happened to be a little English prince of about 7 years old. The prince’s name was John and Queen Elizabeth was his grand-grandmother.
Now a scene was on where John was gallantly riding a splendid white pony. After watching him intently for a while, Alice sprang to her feet exclaiming, “I wish that brave prince gave me a ride on his small horse sometime! I wish I could play some
games with him!” It was obvious that she had a sudden crush on him.
Whether it was a coincidence or just a pure chance but John was presently watching his television, too. They were showing Russia now, the Royal Palace to be more exact. At some
moment John saw delightful princess Alice clumsily riding her brand-new bicycle round a luxurious garden. It was evident to him that Alice was not yet good at riding bicycles and she
kept falling hers off now and then. John exclaimed, “What an admirable little girl! I wish I could teach her how to properly ride bikes and also my pony, and he ran out of
the room to find his father, King Harry.” The instant he found him, he said hotly. “Dad, I’ve just seen a good-looking Russian girl on TV and I felt she needed my help so I
could teach her how to ride bicycles. Is it possible if we fly over to Russia and meet her?” The Father King looked down at his excited son and said, “Ye-es, sonny.
Everything is possible for kings and queens because nothing is impossible in this world for them, but I would not suggest that you should mess with just a girl you meet for the first time no
matter how good-looking she might possibly be unless she belongs to a royal family.” “Then luck is on my side, Father!” happily announced John and added. “That pretty girl is
called Alice and she does come from a royal family. She’s a real princess. Her parents are the King and Queen of Russia. Do you know them, Dad?” “Of course, I do.
I know Russian King Max and Queen Olga and their adorable daughter Alice fairly well,” said King Harry. “And you never told me about their daughter! What are we waiting for
then? How soon can we fly to visit them?” asked John and added. “I’m taking my favourite pony Whitey with us.” “Whitey? Hmm... Why not your hobby elephant Hilly?
I don’t reckon there's enough room for any big animal on the plane,” said John’s father. “No kidding, Dad!" responded John. "Whitey's not as large as Hilly. There's enough room for
everyone on our enormous private jet. What do you always like to say? Everything’s possible because nothing’s impossible, right?” “Absolutely, but haste makes waste, you know. Sure, where's the fire?... A-alright,” John’s father finally gave in and
went on. “I will call King Max and Queen Olga immediately to tell them that we wish to pay them a two-day visit next week. I hope they will like the news. After all, we haven't seen each other in ages!”
“For two weeks, Dad!” corrected him his son. “I wish I had ample time to also teach Alice how to ride my pony. It does take a lot of time and effort, you know.”
A week slipped away just like a lightning. At that very moment Queen Olga and her enchanting daughter Alice were enjoying their leisurely time in the
Palace Garden. Alice was still trying hard to learn how to ride her bicycle. Her mother was no less harder teaching her daughter but the great help she was offering
proved to be of no avail because Queen Olga had never been able to ride bicycles herself. Suddenly, both ladies heard a loud sound of an approaching plane. Seconds
later the aircraft was flying overhead. It was a terribly huge white airplane and beautiful beyond compare. Regarding the receding plane, Alice asked her mother eagerly,
“Do wishes come true sometimes, Mummy?” “Yes, they do, little darling, if they’re really good,” quickly answered Queen Olga and asked her question, “What makes you
ask that? Does it have anything to do with that big airplane?” “You’re such a guessy mother! I wish it were John flying over here to stay with us for a week or so. If it
happened just like I wished, he could help me learn to ride my bicycle at last. I awfully need his help. I bet he’s already a great bike racer and I want to catch up with him. Is it possible that
my wish can come true? It’s a really good one,” said Alice deeply sighing. “I can’t be that sure, daughter dear, but I wish your great wish did come true the soonest,” replied Queen Olga
doing her best to calm down Alice who was seemingly getting upset. She offered her daughter to go to the pond to feed the swans. The weather was perfect, the wind was cool
and soothing, and soon the plane incident got out of their mind. The mother and the daughter were having fun of their outing well and truly. A short time later the sun began to
speedily creep down as though trying to hide itself beyond the horizon and the wind felt rather cold. Queen Olga suggested that they should go back to the palace before they got chilled to the bone. At that very
instant the phone rang. It was King Max calling, “Where are you, my loveable ladies? You've been out for much too long already. You ought to be quickly coming back. The more so because we have special... or rather very important overseas guests. I will not tell you
who they are. You come and see them for yourselves. It’s a surprise! We're all waiting for you.” The connection went dead. Alice and her mum stood there gaping being motionless for a few minutes trying to see into the surprise.
It was Alice who offered a clue, “Mummy, you said that wishes would come true if they were really good, didn’t you? I bet my today’s wish has already come true.
Our special guests are John and... or maybe I’m all wrong.” “Let’s go back home now and find it out. Somehow, I also believe that it’s John and his parents,” said her mother
encouragingly.
A dozen minutes later as the Queen and her daughter Alice were nearing the palace at a fast pace, they could not help but behold a massive white
Limousine parking at the main entrance guarded by an athletically built liveried chauffeur. The car unmistakably looked royal-like, but the one that Alice had never
seen before then. “Look it, Mother! Who's that stylish boy running towards us?!” exclaimed Alice openmouthed. “Guess who-o!... It's John, no doubt. Looks like your
good wish is coming true, indeed,” answered Queen Olga. The kids made friends in no time at all. It also became possible thanks in no small part to English of which they both
had a natural command. All's well that ends well. Good wishes really come true sometimes.
I hate Uncle Sasha's fairy tale because I'm not even a princess. I want to be like Star Butterfly. That's my dream.
By the way, it's May 28, 2021 today. I'm 5 years and 7 months old already.
It is June 5, the year 2021 today. My mum and I have just come to the Moskva River near Vasilievskoy Village about 75 kilometres off Moscow.
We hope to settle here for the whole summer. I enjoy being here with my mother by my side.
I'm trying to make a fishing rod from whatever I've found on the riverbank. If I ever succeed at it, I bet I'll catch a big fish for supper.
BTW, I'm still 5 years and seven months old in this video.
The summer turned out to be pretty hot. It would often make me jump into this plastic barrel with cool water.
The world we live in is ever changing. So is the weather. I'm all alone standing on the winding road that leads to
our village house. It's drizzling a bit so I had to put on this yellow raincoat and a pair of rubber boots.
Today is Knowledge Day. Mum and I are going to give flowers to my favourite kindergarten nurses. I'm about 6 y.o. so
I will be a school first-former next year. To be fair with you, I feel a bit scared of going to school.
I've talked English with mum since cradle. I also speak Russian but never to my mother. I just can't do that! I never even tried.
English is my mother tongue from birth.
Here you are, my black furry ball sleeping at the top of the doll house again! I've been looking for you, Buggie, everywhere!
Mum gives me one piece of clean paper and another one to herself. We're about to make drawings with books, sealed envelopes
and magic potions.
We're still drawing hard...
My drawing consists of three sections with envelopes, books and magic potions I'm talking about in the above two videos.
My mum's drawing depicts a section of potions, as well, and a library full of Harry Potter's books that I adore being read to at bedtime.
