TASK 10:

Please translate (= render) the following (stuff) into English paying much attention to the correct (= proper) usage of the English tenses.

ЧАСТЬ ТРЕТЬЯ
(Всего четыре части)

Однажды я встретил человека, который самостоятельно изучает английский (язык) и обладает навыком, за которым я гоняюсь много лет. Он бегло разговаривает и помогает другим обучаться этому. Мне посчастливилось оказаться одним из его учеников. Благодаря ему и его тонкой системе обучения, я смог завершить то, к чему шел так долго... Был долгий и сложный путь, но, как говорится, что посеешь, то пожнешь. Я здорово вырос в языке, влюбился в него еще больше и понял, что пора с этим что-то делать.

ПРОДОЛЖЕНИЕ СЛЕДУЕТ...


Once I met a person who was learning the English language on his own possessing those skills that I had been after for many years.
= One day I came across a person who was learning English (all) by himself and had the skills I'd been seeking for (sl. donkey's) years.

He speaks fluently and helps others do that.
= He speaks smoothly and gives a hand to others in doing so.

I was fortunate to become one of his students.
= I luckily happened to be one of his pupils.

Thanks to his subtle tutorial methods, I was able to complete what I had been striving for for so long...
= Due to his sophisticated teaching system, I could finish what I'd been aiming at that long...

It was a long and difficult road, but as the saying went: "You reap what you sow."
= The road was hard and long, but as it went: "Today's seed, tomorrow's harvest."

I became perfect at English, got in love with it even more
= I greatly improved in (= my) English, fell in love with it even stronger

and understood that it was (high) time to do something about it.
= got aware that the time was (quite) ripe to do something about it.

идти, стремиться к чему-либо: to srtive for sth = to aim at sth = to seek sth = to look forward to sth

так долго, долгое время: for so long = this/that long = for a long time = for so long a time = for such a long time
