TASK 2:
Please translate (= render) the following (stuff) into English paying much attention to the correct (= proper) usage of the English tenses.    
"Я слышал, что мистер Грид (Greed) недавно умер. Ты когда его видел в последний раз?" - спросил Сэм. "Вообще-то он умер (уже) давным-давно. Так, если быть точным,
господин Грид покинул этот бреный мир ровно полгода тому назад. Должно быть тебе сообщила о его смерти какая-то сплетница, которая никогда и не знала мистера 
Грида," - ответил Джон и добавил: "Ах, если бы он не сыграл в ящик так внезапно, я бы еще мог надеяться получить свои деньги, которые я ему одолжил год назад. Если
бы я только знал, что так получится, я бы ни за что этого не сделал. Как бы я хотел, чтобы он воскрес как Христос и вернул мне свой долг! Сумма ведь была приличная!
     TEACHER'S TRANSLATION VERSIONS:

вообще-то, фактически, в общем то: actually = basically = in fact = as a matter of fact
если быть точным: to be (more) exact = to be (more) precise
смерть, кончина: death = desease [di'si:s] - Не путайте со словом disease [di'zi:z] болезнь - illness = sickness
покойный, умерший deseased [di'si:st] - покойник a deseased person / the deseased
я бы ни за что этого не сделал: I would have never done that = I would've never done it = I would've failed doing that = sl. I woulda failed doing it = 
sl. I'd've never done that = sl. I'da never done that
расплатиться с кем-либо, отдать долг (денежный) кому-либо: to pay one's debt off to sb = to pay sb off one's debt = to pay one's debt down to sb = to pay sb down 
one's debt = to make one's debt up to sb = to square up with sb = to get even with sb
Сумма ведь была приличная!: The amount was rather nice! = The amount was quite handsome! = It was quite a decent amount! = The amount was real big!
